Ms. Wagner earned a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Education from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California. To further her knowledge and education with elementary age students, she pursued a kindergarten through grade six teaching credential from Notre Dame de Namur University in Belmont, California. She spent two years teaching third grade at an academically rigorous school in Los Altos, and has served as a site director for a local writing camp.
Ms. Wagner’s goal as a Humanities Subject Expert Teacher is to assist each student in becoming the best student they can be. She is “extremely excited to have the opportunity to teach Humanities” and is “looking forward to teaching/reinforcing the fundamentals of grammar, phonics and writing through hands on projects, group activities and assignments.” Ms. Wagner is excited to “see what the students come up with when given the environment, encouragement, materials and space to use their imaginations while learning.”
Ms. Wagner chose BASIS Independent Fremont because it gives her the opportunity to teach both a rigorous and an engaging curriculum. Ms. Wagner looks forward to coming to work every day, and believes that all students have the ability to succeed when given the right tools and encouragement. She is a strong believer that it is the job of the teacher to instill a love of learning in their students. This motto is one that she follows and exudes daily throughout her lessons, interactions with students, and in her attitude.
In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends, shopping and traveling. Although Ms. Wagner is a San Francisco native, she enjoys sightseeing and exploring all the wonderful things that the Fremont area has to offer!
