Mr. Velasquez earned a B.S. in Health Science with a minor in Child and Adolescent Development from San Jose State University, where he graduated in May of 2017. He plans to continue his educational journey by enrolling in San Jose State’s Masters of Public Health Program.
Prior to joining the BASIS Independent Fremont team, Mr. Velasquez worked as a preschool instructor and as a Behavioral Therapist. He enjoys working with children and wants to ensure that they are healthy and able to perform to the best of their abilities.
“As the Health Coordinator, I want to help our students excel in the classroom by treating any source of discomfort that they may be experiencing,” Mr. Velasquez says.
In his spare time, Mr. Velasquez enjoys walking the beautiful trails around his home. It allows him some time to relax and get some exercise. Aside from walking, he also enjoys watching movies. His favorite genres are sci-fi and thrillers. He also enjoys listening to music. He loves all different types of music, but his favorite genre is Reggae.
